Saturday April 21st, chorus students from Charles Spencer, J. T. Reddick and Matt Wilson Elementary Schools participated in the Georgia Music Educators' Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College here in Tifton, GA.

Each student prepared a solo and performed it for a college professor.  The students were scored individually according to a set of musical objectives as set by the Georgia Music Educators' Association.  These students brought home a total of nine "Superior" ratings (which means students averaged an "A" on all of the objectives) and one "Excellent" rating (which means students averaged a "B" on all of the objectives)

Congratulations to these Chorus Students !

Students were graded on solo preparedness in the following areas:  suitability of music, tone, technique, balance (with accompanist), musical interpretation, appearance and over-all effect.  the students were accompanied by Gina Lawhon (Tift County Music Educator) and Pam McClellan Tift County Music Educator). A Special "Thanks" to Mr. Mickey Weldon, principal at JTR, Craig Matthews, Principal CS, Tonja Tift, Principal MW, and the Board of Education for allowing students to participate and supplying the transportation to get to Darton University.
